1. Nature of the service
TaxFlow SA is a digital tax administration and record-keeping tool designed to assist provisional taxpayers in South Africa with organising their income, expenses and tax-related information. The app provides estimates and calculations based on information you enter and publicly available SARS tax tables.
TaxFlow SA is not a registered tax practitioner, tax consultant, accountant, or financial adviser as defined under the Tax Administration Act 28 of 2011, the Income Tax Act 58 of 1962, or any applicable South African legislation. Nothing in this application constitutes tax advice, legal advice, financial advice, or a professional opinion.
2. Not a replacement for professional advice
The primary purpose of TaxFlow SA is to simplify the administrative process of gathering, organising and presenting financial records to a qualified tax practitioner or accountant for the purposes of completing and submitting tax returns and provisional tax (IRP6) submissions to SARS.
You are strongly advised to have all tax submissions reviewed and filed by a registered tax practitioner who is a member of a recognised controlling body under the Tax Administration Act. The figures and estimates produced by TaxFlow SA serve as a guideline only and must not be submitted to SARS without independent professional verification.
3. Accuracy of estimates and calculations
All tax calculations, estimates, IRP6 projections, rebate calculations and penalty-free amount analyses provided by TaxFlow SA are based on:
- Information entered by you, the user
- Publicly available SARS tax tables and rates
- Assumptions built into the software at the time of development
TaxFlow SA makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness or fitness for purpose of any calculation, estimate or figure produced by the application. SARS tax legislation changes regularly. It is your responsibility to ensure that any figures submitted to SARS reflect current legislation.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, TaxFlow SA, its owners, directors, employees, developers and agents shall not be liable for any loss, damage, penalty, interest, under-payment, over-payment or adverse outcome of any kind arising from:
- Reliance on any estimate, calculation or figure produced by TaxFlow SA
- Incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate information entered by the user
- Any SARS audit, assessment, penalty or interest imposed as a result of a tax submission
- Delays in updating the application to reflect changes in tax legislation
- Technical errors, system downtime or data loss
- Decisions made by the user or their representatives based on information in the app
This limitation applies whether the claim arises in contract, delict, statute or any other legal basis, and even if TaxFlow SA has been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage.
5. User responsibilities
By using TaxFlow SA you acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy and completeness of all information you enter into the application
- Ensuring that any tax submissions made to SARS are correct and compliant
- Engaging a suitably qualified tax practitioner to review and submit your tax returns
- Keeping your account credentials secure and confidential
- Compliance with all applicable South African tax laws and regulations
- Paying any tax, interest or penalties assessed by SARS
6. Data and privacy
Your financial data is stored securely on Supabase cloud infrastructure located in the European Union, protected by row-level security ensuring only you can access your own data. TaxFlow SA will not sell, share or disclose your personal financial information to any third party except as required by South African law.
TaxFlow SA processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). By creating an account you consent to the collection and processing of your personal information for the purposes described in this agreement.
7. AI-powered features
TaxFlow SA uses artificial intelligence (Claude by Anthropic) for certain features including the AI Tax Advisor, income stream classification and payslip scanning. AI-generated content is informational only and does not constitute professional advice. AI responses may contain errors and must not be relied upon for actual tax submissions.
8. Amendments
TaxFlow SA reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the application. Continued use of the app after notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from the use of TaxFlow SA shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
